Pixel 9 Pro plans
The Pixel 9 Pro is available on mobile plans from Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone. Each offers the new handset on 12, 24 and 36-month repayments. A 24-month term means you take full ownership of your Pixel 9 Pro sooner, while a 36-month term brings down your monthly cost to a more manageable number.

Pixel 9 Pro features
The Pixel 9 Pro is a new addition to the lineup this year - if we're being technical. It's a smaller version of the familiar Pro model, while the Pixel 9 Pro XL is the proper successor.
Like the rest of the new Pixel 9 range, it comes with a fresh redesign but you can also expect a few updates under the hood.
The Pixel 9 Pro comes in four different colourways: black (Obsidian), white (Porcelain), pink (Rose Quartz) and green (Hazel).
Pixel 9 Pro design
As mentioned, the Pixel 9 Pro is smaller this year. It comes with a 6.3-inch display, compared to the 6.7-inch display on last year's model. It's actually the same size as the base model Pixel 9.
Like the rest of the Pixel 9 range, the handset is more squared-off than previous models and has a new camera arrangement. Instead of the end-to-end raised strip along the back, the camera is now housed in a raised pill shape. Gorilla Glass Victus 2 display glass returns to keep your Pixel 9 Pro safe.
Pixel 9 Pro camera
You'll find the cameras on the Pixel 9 Pro are shared in common with the Pixel 9 Pro XL. It has a 50MP primary lens, 48MP ultra-wide lens and 48MP telephoto lens. The front-facing camera is now a 42MP camera rather than the 10.5MP on the Pixel 8 Pro.
In our review of the Pixel 9 Pro XL, we found the cameras to be the best you'll find on an Android phone and that should apply to the Pixel 9 Pro as well.
Pixel 9 Pro battery
One downside to a smaller phone is a smaller battery. With the Pixel 9 Pro you're looking at a 4,700mAh battery (down from 5,050mAh on the Pixel 8 Pro). This is the same size battery as you'll get on the base Pixel 9. We found the Pixel 9 offered all-day battery life.
Pixel 9 Pro processor
All of the new Pixels have the latest processor from Google, the Tensor G4. Google says it should result in 20% faster browsing, 17% faster app launching and improvements in battery efficiency. Like the 9 Pro XL, the 9 Pro has 16GB of RAM compared to just 12GB on the Pixel 8 Pro and standard Pixel 9.
Pixel 9 Pro 5G
The Pixel 9 Pro comes with 5G connectivity. You can use the map below to check what kind of coverage is available in your area.

Pixel 9 Pro eSIM
All Pixel 9 handsets support eSIM but maintain a physical SIM card slot. An eSIM can make switching providers more convenient – you don't, for example, have to wait for a physical SIM to be shipped or to pick one up from a retailer. You can get set up online over WiFi.

Pixel 9 Pro plan providers
Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone are all ranging the Pixel 9 Pro. Here's a breakdown of the major benefits each provider offers.
Telstra Pixel 9 Pro plans
Telstra's Pixel 9 Pro plans are the priciest on the Australian market, but they do pack in a lot of extra value.
Telstra lets you pay your iPhone off over 12, 24, or 36-month periods. Each Telstra plan comes with unlimited data.
This means once you use up your allowance your data will simply be slowed to speeds of 1.5Mbps, instead of you being charged for excess data.
Optus Pixel 9 Pro plans
Optus' Pixel 9 Pro plans come with good data inclusions and a couple of bonus perks. Its top-of-the-line plans also have unlimited international calls to selected destinations.
All of Optus' mobile plans are contract-free, and devices can be paid off across 12, 24, or 36 months.
Like Telstra, Optus' postpaid plans are free from excess data charges. If you go over your allowance, your plan is slowed to 1.5Mbps.
Vodafone Pixel 9 Pro plans
Vodafone Pixel 9 Pro plans are the cheapest when you choose the 36-month repayment period and they also come with the best bundling options.
If you have a Vodafone mobile plan, you can get most of the telco's internet plans - NBN, 5G home internet, and 4G home internet - at a discounted rate.
Vodafone customers also save when bundling multiple postpaid mobile plans. You'll get a 5% discount on your total mobile bill for each plan on your account after the first. This discount maxes out at 20% and doesn't include handset repayments.
Vodafone postpaid plans have unlimited data. When you go over your plan allowance, you'll be capped at 2Mbps. Vodafone also has the best offer for taking your Aussie number overseas. Its $5 a day roaming lets you access your full plan inclusions overseas.
How to choose the best Pixel 9 Pro plan for you
Here's what you should keep in mind when comparing Pixel 9 Pro plans:
- How much data you need. By calculating how much mobile data you use, you can avoid overspending. There's no point in getting the plan with the largest data allowance if you only use a few gigabytes per month.
- Repayment period. Selecting a shorter 12-month repayment period means you'll own your Pixel 9 Pro outright faster – but pay a higher monthly bill. You'll pay less on a 24 or 36-month plan, but keep in mind you'll be effectively "locked in" to a carrier for longer.
- Extras. Consider things like international roaming inclusions and any other perks you value, such as free streaming subscriptions, rewards programs and more.
