The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 is now available, succeeding last year's Galaxy Z Fold 3. The new model doesn't make any sweeping changes when compared to its predecessor, but Samsung has kitted it out with the same camera system as the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+. This should result in a more premium photography experience, given that previous Fold device cameras were a step behind the equivalent S-series phone.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 plan providers
Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, and Woolworth Mobile are all ranging the Galaxy Z Fold 4. Here's a breakdown of the major benefits you can expect each provider to offer.
Telstra Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 plans
Telstra Galaxy Z Fold 4 plans are often the priciest on the Australian market, but they do come with a host of perks.
Telstra lets you pay your Galaxy off over 12 or 24 months, and all plans are free from excess data charges. If you go over your cap, your data will simply be slowed to speeds of 1.5Mbps, which is still fast enough to stream video in SD. But speeds may be slower during peak times.
Optus Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 plans
Optus Galaxy Z Fold 4 plans come with solid data inclusions.
Higher-end Optus Samsung plans also come with unlimited international calls to selected destinations included with the plan.
All Optus plans are contract-free, and devices can be paid off across 12, 24, or 36 months.
In addition, all Optus postpaid plans are free from excess data charges. If you go over your allowance, you'll be slowed to 1.5Mbps rather than being billed $10 per gigabyte.
Vodafone Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 plans
Vodafone Galaxy Z Fold 4 plans may not come with the kinds of freebies and perks you can get from Optus or Telstra, but they have perks when it comes to bundling.
If you have a Vodafone mobile plan, you can get most of the telcos internet plans - NBN, 5G home internet, and 4G home internet - at a discounted rate.
Vodafone customers also save 5% on their total mobile bill for each postpaid mobile plan on their account after the first. This discount maxes out at 20%, and doesn't include handset repayments.
Vodafone postpaid plans are all free from excess data charges. When you go over your plan allowance, you'll be capped to 2Mbps and 10Mbps, depending on how much you're spending per month. The higher your bill, the higher your capped data speeds. Vodafone also has a truly unlimited plan, with one slight catch - you'll only get 30GB of data for hotspotting each month.
You'll also get access to Vodafone's famous $5 roaming, which is still easily the best way to travel with your Australian phone number.
Woolworths Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 plans
Woolworths Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 plans may not come from a big name telco, but there are other perks.
To start, Woolworths Mobile also offers up to 500GB Data Banking for your excess data. Anything of your data allowance that you don't use will roll over to the next month.
Customers can also gift spare data to other Woolworths Mobile users.
Woolworths Mobile is powered by the Telstra network, but at present, does not have access to 5G.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 features
The Galaxy Z Fold 4's biggest upgrade is the camera. While previous Samsung foldables were a step behind compared to its S-series offering, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 borrows the same camera setup found on the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+. While this isn't the best camera system around - it's not even Samsung's best - at least it represents much less of a compromise if you're considering a Galaxy Z Fold 4.
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes in three colours: phantom black, greygreen (it doesn't have a space, for some reason), and beige.
Camera | The Galaxy Z Fold 4 has the same camera setup as the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+. This includes a 50MP primary lens, 12MP ultra-wide lens, and 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. |
Design | The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is almost identical to the Galaxy Z Fold 3, aesthetically. The screens are a little wider on both the inside and outside, but that's due to bezel reductions rather than a bigger physical footprint. The phone itself is also a little lighter. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 supports the S Pen, but it's still sold separately and the phone doesn't have an integrated holster. |
Battery Life | The Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a 4,400mAh battery, making it identical to last year's model. |
Processor | The Galaxy Z Fold 4 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor. This is the fastest processor you'll currently find in an Android phone. |
5G | The Galaxy Z Fold 4 has 5G connectivity. |
