The iPhone 15 Pro was one of 2023's top-end models, featuring a titanium build, a sleeker design, and an Apple Watch-inspired Action Button. It has, however, been discontinued and is getting harder and harder to find.
If you want the newest model you can take a look at iPhone 16 Pro plans now.

iPhone 15 Pro features

The iPhone 15 Pro feels like an Apple Watch Ultra-inspired take on the iPhone. Like Apple's top-end smartwatch, 2023's high-end phones phones feature a titanium build and an Action Button.
iPhone 15 Pro design
As with every iPhone 15, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max use a USB-C connector for charging. Unlike the standard models, the Pros feature a higher speed version of the connector capable of reaching 10Gbps. This will help with some niche use cases, like recording video directly to external storage.
Both Pro phones have 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch display sizes as previous models, but Apple has cut down on bezel, making the phones a little bit smaller. They're now made of titanium instead of stainless steel, which also makes them lighter and more durable.
Apple has also swapped out the mute switch for an Action Button. By default, A long press will swap your phone from silent to loud and vice versa, but you can change it to a customisable action. You can use the Action Button to start a voice memo, open the camera, start accessibility features, or open a shortcut, for example.
Lastly, the new Pros have a slightly contoured design, in contrast with the harsh square edges on the last few generations of iPhones.
The iPhone 15 Pro is available in a choice of natural titanium, blue titanium, white titanium, and black titanium.
iPhone 15 Pro camera
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max both share the same 48MP primary lens and 12MP ultra-wide lens. The primary lens has a bigger sensor than iPhone 14 Pro, and is a bit more flexible. Out of the box, you'll get higher resolution 24MP photos but have the option of taking 48MP snaps if you want more detail.
You can also set the primary lens to emulate 24mm, 28mm, and 35mm focal lengths, giving you some more versatility. You'll be able to pick your favourite to set it as your default for 1x zoom.
While the iPhone 15 Pro has a 3x zoom lens like other recent Pro models, Apple has upgraded the iPhone 15 Pro Max to a 5x zoom lens. That's the longest zoom lens we've seen on an iPhone.

iPhone 15 Pro battery
On paper, iPhone 15 Pro battery life hasn't changed from previous models. Apple rates the iPhone 15 Pro for 23 hours of video playback, and the iPhone 15 Pro for 29 hours. That's the same as the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, respectively.
In our testing, we found the iPhone 15 Pro battery on the shorter side. It only gets around 4.5 hours of screen time per charge when connected to a 5G network. That's still about a full day of usage, but you won't have much of a buffer at the end of the day. Meanwhile, iPhone 15 Pro Max owners can expect around seven hours of screen time, which is about a day-and-a-half of standard usage.
iPhone 15 Pro processor
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are powered by the A17 Pro chipset. Apple says the A17's CPU is 10% faster than the A16 from 2022, and the GPU is 20% faster, as well as more energy efficient. As a result, several console titles like Resident Evil Village and Death Stranding are available for iPhone 15 Pro.
iPhone 15 Pro 5G
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max naturally have 5G connectivity. WhistleOut's coverage checker tool has 5G coverage maps, making it easy to see whether you can get 5G. All you need to do is pop in your address when searching for a new phone plan. After you've done so and hit Search, you can jump straight to the coverage map by tapping See Coverage Map and then tapping Click To Activate Interactive Map.
This map will show you what kind of coverage you have in your area. 5G coverage is highlighted using the darkest shade of purple, but unticking 4G and 3G can help make it clearer. The drop-down menu lets you choose between telcos.
Coverage maps are only approximate, only show outdoor coverage, and may be impacted by local conditions such as buildings.
iPhone 15 Pro eSIM
Every iPhone 15 model sold in Australia supports eSIM, but still has a physical SIM slot.
eSIM (an electronic SIM or embedded SIM) is a rewritable SIM card that’s built directly into the phone. It never leaves your phone. Instead, you simply download a "software SIM" from your provider of choice.
