Samsung has revealed its latest flagship phones, touting three new models: a standard Galaxy S22, a larger Galaxy S22+, and a Galaxy S22 Ultra that's ostensibly a Galaxy Note by another name.
The Galaxy S22+ is the middle child in the family. It's not quite as flash as the Galaxy S22 Ultra, but not quite as expensive.
If you're keen, all three devices are available now.
This page focuses on the Galaxy S22+, but you can find more about the other new Samsung phones here:

Samsung Galaxy S22+ Design

Like the standard Galaxy S22, the Galaxy S22+ is almost identical to its predecessor. The most defining recurring element is the camera bump that spills over into the phone's frame. The Galaxy S22+ is a touch smaller than last year's model, however. It features a 6.6-inch display, down from the 6.7-inch in the Galaxy S21+.
Samsung Galaxy S22+ Camera
The Galaxy S22+ shares its camera setup with the Galaxy S22. The biggest change is a new 50MP primary camera, up from 12MP last year. This is joined by two other cameras: a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 10MP 3x zoom lens. The biggest improvement to the Galaxy S22+'s camera prowess could come in low light, for both photos and videos.
In our testing, we found the Galaxy S22+ camera is pretty reliable for the most part, but not quite on the same level as what Apple, Google, and OPPO have achieved with their phones.
Samsung Galaxy S22+ Battery Life
The Galaxy S22+ features a 4,500mAh, which is a downgrade from the 4,800mAh cell found in last year's Galaxy S21+. Despite this, we found the Galaxy S22+ could comfortably last a full day per charge with a reasonable buffer.
Samsung Galaxy S22+ Processor
The Galaxy S22+ is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor in Australia.
Samsung Galaxy S22+ Colours
The Galaxy S22+ is available in black, white, green, and pink.

Choosing a Samsung Galaxy S22+ plan
With the WhistleOut search tool, you can compare Galaxy S22+ pricing and inclusions across every provider. But there's a lot more to plans than just cost and data. Here's a breakdown of the major benefits you can expect each provider to offer.

Telstra Galaxy plans are often the priciest on the Australian market, but they do come with a host of perks. These include:
- Data-free access to Apple Music
- Access to the Telstra Plus perks and rewards program
Telstra lets you pay your Galaxy off over 12 or 24 months, and all plans are free from excess data charges. If you go over your cap, your data will simply be slowed to speeds of 1.5Mbps, which is still fast enough to stream video in SD. But speeds may be slower during peak times.

Optus Galaxy plans come with solid data inclusions and entertainment extras. Most Optus Galaxy plans include:
- Discounted access to Optus Sport
- Discounted movie tickets for Hoyts Cinemas
Higher-end Optus Samsung plans also come with unlimited international calls to selected destinations included with the plan.
All Optus plans are contract-free, devices can be paid off across 12, 24, or 36 months, and you can customise inclusions like roaming and international calls on a month-to-month basis.
In addition, all Optus postpaid plans are free from excess data charges. If you go over your allowance, you'll be slowed to 1.5Mbps rather than being billed $10 per gigabyte.

Vodafone Galaxy plans may not come with the kinds of freebies and perks you can get from Optus or Telstra, but they do offer a lot of flexibility. Like Telstra and Optus plans, Vodafone plans are contract-free on the basis that you can leave at any time without penalty. You'll just need to pay out the remaining value of your handset.
You can also step up or down in plan inclusions up to once per month, and ease the burden of ever-rising phone prices by paying off your handset over 12, 24 or 36 months. You'll pay the same overall for your Galaxy no matter which option you pick.
Vodafone postpaid plans are all free from excess data charges. When you go over your plan allowance, you'll be capped at 2Mbps and 10Mbps, depending on how much you're spending per month. The higher your bill, the higher your capped data speeds. Vodafone also has a truly unlimited plan, with one slight catch - you'll only get 30GB of data for hotspotting each month.
You'll also get access to Vodafone's famous $5 roaming, which is still easily the best way to travel with your Australian phone number.

Woolworths Galaxy plans may not come from a big-name telco, but there are other perks.
To start, Woolworths Mobile also offers up to 300GB Data Banking for your excess data. Anything of your data allowance that you don't use will roll over to the next month. You can have up to 300GB of data in your data bank at any time.
Customers can also gift spare data to other Woolworths Mobile users.
Woolworths Mobile customers can also get 10% off their Woolworths grocery shop once per month.
Woolworths Mobile is powered by the Telstra network, but at present, does not have access to 5G.
